Kajang is located just outside of KL on the way to the airport.
You can use the prepaid "airport limo" to get there and perhaps ask the driver to wait for you while you "feast". Fare will cost approx MYR100-120 return. Allow at least 45min (each way) for the ride.

I dont have any recommendation for restaurants/stalls, except to fly MH First or Biz class where they serve very decent satays onboard .....

I was wondering if you ever made it over to Kajang?

I was researching my upcoming trip to KUL in Sept, and I first learned about Kajang in this Sweet Willie thread:

http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/asia/...tay-ideas.html

Anyway, the only other info I found was on wikitravel:
http://wikitravel.org/en/Kajang

It mentioned two places:
Haji Samuri:

The wiki page says it's now a fast food chain that started in Kajang. I read a few reviews which said that the original location has gone downhill since it became more popular. (To be fair, I didn't do extensive research, but that was my initial impression). Here's one set of reviews:
http://www.onestopmalaysia.com/food-...i-samuri).html

Malaysia Restaurant:
Restoran Malaysia (Nyuk Lan Satay Kajang)
http://babeinthecitykl.blogspot.com/...-nyuk-lan.html

That's a review from 2007 from someone's blog. Seems decent. The reviewer also reviewed Haji Samuri in 2004, but this review echoes that Haji Samuri has deteriorated.

If I had to make the decision with no information other that what I have above, I guess I'd hit Malaysia Restaurant.

If I have time in my trip in Sept, I'll check it out, but I think it was mario33 who wrote in another thread that he thinks there are plenty of good satay places in KL itself that are just as good.

I didnt think "Restoran Malaysia" was all that great but then it was more than 10 years since I last ate there.

Haji Samuri has several branches and I agree with one of the comments in the blog about the meat being not properly cooked whenever theres a crowd. Do a search on the locations of their branches, theres no need to go all the way to Kajang.
