Planning on flying to Phu Quoc from BKK and staying at the IC.

Do I (1.) apply for an e-visa ( U.S. citizen ), do I ( 2. ) work with a visa on arrival agent or do I ( 3. ) trust the IC representative who
assured me that when flying into the island from BKK and under the condition that I stay on the island for the duration of the stay
and return back to BKK non stop, no visum is required?

Happy New Year ( I am already writing this in 2019 JT )

In order: 3, 1, 2.

US Passport, 2 trips to Vietnam within 30 days, (arriving/departing DAD both trips)

should I:

a. get 2 e-Visas

b. get multiple entry VOA

c. get 1 e-Visa & 1 single entry VOA

cost is not my primary concern, it is assurance that I will not be denied entry on either visit.

Does option b require a $50 stamping fee at each entry or only once?

thanks!

Nachos see post #1495 just above. First confirmed case of 2 e-visas allowed in this thread, afaik.

So as now understood, visa exemption - exit requires 15 day wait before re-entry on second exemption. E-visa - can return on another e-visa without time/waiting restriction.

I would just do the multi entry VOA if it's multiple entries within 30 days...one and done. My understanding is that the VOA has a stamping fee for a single OR multiple entry Visa. I think it's $25 for single and $50 for multiple at this point so you shouldn't be charged twice.

If you do VOA, remember that you have to get the letter in advance and you have to enter first through an airport...which is sounds like you are...to get the visa.

It sounds like 2 eVisas are also a possibility but to me it seems like more work and stress with the turn around time...personal preference though....you could do either.

Also...Visa exempt refers to countries that DO NOT need a Visa.

I just got an eVisa. No stress. Fill out the online form, upload photo and passport info page photo. Applied Tuesday evening approved within 3 days. I don't know if that changes any with respect to getting more than one, but I suspect not.

I applied today Friday the 4th and have a flight on the 8th. US passport. Worse case scenario I dont get it before i leave on LAX_NRT_HAN then I need to check my email and download in NRT lounge right? And I can need a passport photo and filled out form?

Thank you!

It should arrive before then. If you haven't got it prior to your LAX - NRT flight then I would pay for on urgent VOA letter. The 8th is a weekday and it won't cost too much to get one with 8 hours notice.

If you are eligible, I can highly recommend the APEC business travel card.

Can US passport with APEC Business Travel Card enter Vietnan without visa?
There is an old page in 2005 but US was not in ABTC program at the time.

You should have it by then, but if you don't I'd worry about getting denied boarding for not having proper travel documents.

Can, provided your APEC has the VNM endorsement in the back.

Well. In this case, I guess it is no. On the back of the card, it only says VALID FOR TRAVEL TO:
Nothing else.
