Lately, I've been getting into a lot of situations where I need to book a direct flight in and out of SE Asia just days before the day I need to fly. My travel agent isn't very good at that sort of thing since she's usually swamped, and online booking isn't ideal as an option for some of the places I go to. Would it be faster for me to try and book one by calling a call center or something? I tried once and I got an Indian who, as helpful as she was, I could barely understand. I heard that some of the airlines moved their operations to the Philippines and I hear there's a lot of call centers there with good English-speaking agents (TeleTech, Ascend Asia, and a few others have been mentioned to me). Would calling them be the faster option, particularly because there isn't always an available wireless network my laptop can connect to?
