AFAIK, with DragonAir you have to connect through HKG and CX does not serve this route. In fact CX does not serve PVG at all from any destination.
To the OP, why not try the usual suspects, Expedia, Orbitz, etc. If nothing else, you may get an idea what it costs and which airlines serve this route non-stop. Then you could always follow up with the airline directly or wait until you get to Bejing to book the ticket with a local travel agent. In most cases, purchasing the ticket locally in China will save you a nice chunk of money.
Just checked Expedia and for mid-week end of July one way flight is coming back at $159 all in.

OOPS. Sorry. I thought I read PEK-HKG. Yeah, CX and DRAGONAIR do not fly this route.
Im taking this route next week; I beleive Air China and China Air fly this route. China Eastern may also. F class is about 250 USD. I tried booking on Expedia, but it didnt work so I called AMEX and had the tickets printed for me.

You can use your credit card and purchase an e-ticket online with either of these sites.

Any recent experiences flying MU on this route? I'm planning a "leisure" weekend in Beijing ( well, some meetings but also more private stuff ) and am not in any hurry. Would it be better to take a night train on Friday evening ( and back late Sun ) if Fri and Sun afernoon flights are full and prices high?

[QUOTE=vorlon857]If you're familiar with the area, then the best bet would be to try a local agent. Last year I got a PVG-PEK roundtrip for around $150 on Shanghai Airlines.[/QUO
Do u have an agent to reccomend?

You will have a choice of flights out of both Shanghai airports on a variety of airlines as listed above.
One site to buy tickets is here:
http://yoee.com/
travelocity's AP site may also be useful to research alternatives.
http://zuji.com
When I flew this route I researched online and gave the info to the concierge at my hotel who arranged the ticket and had it delivered to my room.

I just flew PEK-PVG last week on Air China, which, aside from being delayed for 2 hours, went fine. Three things to note: i) don't schedule meetings close to your arrival time, as the flights are often delayed; ii) depending on where you will stay/have meetings, you may want to fly into HongQiao airport (SHA) instead for easier access to Puxi; iii) if you care about United miles, I think Air China is supposed to give United miles.
