Dusit Thani BKK?
Hey,
does anyone have any input on the Dusit Thani in BKK? read some reviews of tripadvisor seems to be a bit faded, but thought I´d check if anyone here has any comments? Its either that the JW Marriott or The Davis im contemplating on?
cheers JB

Stayed there once and yeah, it is pretty faded, although as of last year there were still only halfway through a renovation program. The main asset is the excellent location right next the madness of Silom at night and easy escapes to both the MRT and the Skytrain.
Davis is great but the location is a little inconvenient. JW Marriott is a little dull but the location is better -- just watch out for the roaming bands of nimble-fingered ladyboys from Nana next door.

Dusit is well established. The location is awesome. Also right across from Lumpini Park. It's true Davis is a little out of the way, but very stying.

I stayed at the Dusit for a week earlier this month (for a conference). The hotel has been completely renovated. The "hardware" of the hotel is thus as good as it gets. The "software" however doesn't really compare to top hotels in Bangkok - for example, their Royal Thai cusine restaurant looks superb but the food is only so, so. That sort of speaks for the hotel in total.
I don't give much for its location - you sort of feel imprinsoned there, when I have a choice I always stay at the Oriental.
