Bali Beautifull!

We just returned from Bali and we found a very beautifull villa near Changgu beach. It's situated just above Seminyak. Great garden and pool, fantastic rooms with AC and great service. Not that expensive.
It's called Villa Adinda: www.villa-adinda.com

The recently renovated villa in Ubud, Kupu Kupu Barong is also fantastic! Amazing view & atmosphere, really large room which is typically dbl storeys with living room + balcony downstairs and another large seating room + bedroom above. I love their balinese coffee

Here's their website www.kupubarong.com

Question Updates or info on Kupu Kupu Barong?

Good day, fellow FTers... is there any new information or recommendation on Kupu Kupu Barong? We are planning three nights in Ubud next month - and isnce we will be going on to the Tukang Besi archipelago with nothing but beaches, would prefer a nice romantic place where we can base out of to visit crafts villages, sightseeing etc. (It's about our 40th anniversary - and we already have a driver for the time.)

Other places that fit the bill you'd recommend instead? We prefer someplace on the edges of town but with easy access to town, views, smaller, quieter, reasonably hygienic and did I mention romantic?

The hotel we initially settled on wanted photocopies of passports, credit cards, security numbers etc. and they can forget that! Credit card to guarnatee booking, yeah, but... passport page and credit card security ID? )

Thanks for any help here.

We stayed at an impossibly romantic and beautiful villa outside of Ubud- Villa Uma www.villauma.com. Check it out and I will be glad to answer any questions.

Has anyone here stayed at Ubud Hanging Gardens? Besides the distance from Ubud, what were your impressions?

Villa Uma can also be rented throught the VRBO webiste- dealing directly through the owner and they may be willing to negotiate the price a bit. All the info on the website is accurate and the villa cannot be adequately described in photos or in text. Our only regret is that we did not spend enough time at the villa since it was our first time to Bali and we were in a frenetic travel mode with Wayan Sueta as our indefatigable guide who was willing to take us everywhere. We were just lamenting that we could have and maybe will take another trip just to relax at the villa- The setting and furnishings create a peaceful and relaxing ambience- not matched almost anywhere and they staff are wonderful and they can prepare meals which are terrific especially when dining on the terrrace. Breakfast on the terrace is also a treat- Glad to send photos to anyone interested.

naxos - "Villa Uma looks perfect for a longer stay" was my thought. Your post reinforces that - we will be driven (literally and figuratively) by Wayan as well. This time, we decided on a shorter time to 1) allow dive gear / baggage to catch up if it somehow misses the NRT-HKG connection or the HKG-DPS flight, 2) familiarize a little with Bali, 3) dump the jet lag - diving is not a good thing to be doing with jet lag (or Lariam.)

But I suspect Bali will be on our short list to retrun for a lengthier stay, including some diving at Tulamben and Secret Bay, and Villa Uma looks like the place to relax and enjoy afterwards. ^ TA!

What is the VRBO website? Is it different from the www.villauma.com site mentioned previously?

The Waka Di Ume in Ubud is Fantastic. Very romantic and amazing setting in amongst the rice paddies. No TV if you want it though.

We (2 couples) are planning a trip for late June and are still considering hotels vs. a villa. Ewanmebabe, which 5* hotels were you calling and getting those kinds of rates?
