RTW or Multiple tickets
Hi,
Whats the best way travel with the following itenary? Will be traveling business.
GSO - Colombo, Sri Lanka
Colombo - Bangkok
Bamgkok - Singapore
Singapore - Mumbai
Mumbai - GSO
Prefer to travel Singapore Airlines

Your routing will make this a difficult itinerary due to backtracking. If you can find a way to go from India to Sri Lanka and then head to SIN and BKK you could reduce your cost significantly. In addition, on SQ it might be cheaper to go R/T as opposed to RTW. I'm in the middle of a similar trip right now from ORF-LAX-NRT (stopover) KIX-SIN (stopover) SIN-DEL (stopover) DEL-SIN-NRT-LAX-ORF which saved about $2,000 over a RTW version (in C on SQ). The domestic portion is on UA, and SQ will not put you on the SIN-LAX direct flight for the low fares. I don't think SQ flies to Colombo from India, so it might be cheaper to by that portion separately.
