Ouch, hope they will allow KITAS holders to use the digital gates soon! KITAS has supposedly been electronic for a couple of years now (no more cards - just a printout stapled to a visa page in one's passport), so it should be fairly easy to implement. Either way, IME, the longest part of arriving at CGK has always been waiting for checked bags to show up.
Ehh, I last lived in Indonesia in 2008, so maybe this info is way obsolete. |

Are KITAS-holding expats still required to pay a tax at the airport before international departure?

We just arrived at CGK yesterday on an international flight. The e-gates are now fully up and running. They can (currently) only be used by Indonesian passport holders or people who have a digital e-visa (so not sure why you would want to queue to get a visa on arrival now....)
Incredible how quickly arrivals are being processed. Well done CGK! What do we do with the printed e-VOA we normally need to show to officers? Do we get a sticker printout for the entry? |
Really confused about which terminal each domestic carrier operates from at CGK. Different websites state different things, and I can't seem to access the official CGK website.
Anyone can help me with where each of these carriers operate out of? NAM/Sriwijaya Super AIr Citilink Batik Lion Pelita |

To anyone familiar with the situation: how does it work for those with e-VOA?

Are domestic departing/arriving passengers segregated, or is it like here in the US where one disembarks into the departure lounge area and arriving/departing pax are all mixed. Do domestic connecting passengers require a security check at the transfer point, or can one simply just stay airside and walk over to the next gate? |

If you have e-VOA you just go to the passport control.
you don't need to print it out. I had the pdf version saved in my phone and just handed my phone to the office. He checked it and I got a sticker to my passport. |

No worries, but just to answer your question, departing and arriving passengers are segregated, so in most cases you’d have to go through a security check again. While Terminal 3 has a transit checkpoint, I can’t say for sure that Terminals 1 and 2 does have one as well, so chances are you’d have to check in as a normal departing passenger.
Good to know how the transit flow is for domestic flights. Will just plan as if I will have to exit and then reenter the terminal for each of the self connecting flights. Thankfully I will not travel with any checked in bags, so shouldn't be too bad. |

Hello all, this is my very first post on FlyerTalk, so I hope it's the right place to ask.
I have a self-connecting flight at CGK later this year, with separate PNRs, and I'm wondering if it's doable. KUL-CGK(T3) on Garuda (economy) arriving at 1400, then a self-transfer CGK(T3)-BRS with KLM (Business) on the same day at 1925. Is 5 hours 25 mins enough for me to get through immigration (I have a ASEAN passport, so free BVK visa) and baggage claim at arrival, and then check back in for my KLM flight? I'm a SkyTeam Elite+ with Flying Blue. I've asked Garuda about the possibility of using the fast track immigration lane at CGK (Garuda main page says this is only for their own FFP, but then on their SkyTeam partners page suggest it is offered to SkyTeam Elite+ members). Or are the new autogates faster? Also, does anyone know if I can through-check my luggage at KUL all the way to BRS, since both Garuda/KLM are SkyTeam alliance members? Garuda CS suggest this may be possible, but not sure. That would definitely save me time. Thanks for any help! |

You should be able to through check at KUL if you ask nicely, and if the check in agent is willing to do so. But even if they do not, you have lots of time. |

Plenty of time to make the connection, even if you have to clear immigration and security.
