Trip to BKK

I'm flying to BKK in Aug. I have heard horror stories about people who had drugs slipped into their carry-ons.
1.) Does this happen frequently?
2.) Would I be better off checking my garment bag and just bringing my camera on board?
3.) If this were to happen to me, what should I do, will Thai authorities recognize the problem they have or will they just shoot me

Well, I don't think the problem is very serious and this can happen to you around the globe. I think the best advice is: Zip up your bags, and watch them closely while shopping. BKK is a fairly busy airport, and you can expect quite an amount of people overthere.

Actually, as of last year Thailand has replaced the firing squad with lethal injections. Either of which would admittedly be a considerably better fate than 15 years in Bang Kwang though...
