Hotel at NRT

Any recommendations for a hotel close to NRT for one night. I have stayed at the Nikko, but it is boring.

You can always go downtown Narita at night from your hotel. there are great air crew hang out in Narita (which is operated by Virgin airway). You can also swing around to eat well in the city of Narita.

I don't see that this has been posted before...

NRT has a very good "pay by the hour" hotel inside the departure part of the airport (Inside security). I'm not sure which terminal, but it is the one that NW flies in and out of. It is only 500 yen per hour with no minimum, and each room comes with a bed and shower. If you're just looking for a good nap on a layover, I definitely recommend it.

I found the info on the day rooms with showers at

http://www.narita-airport.or.jp/airp...ex_shower.html

Shower Rooms & Day Rooms are available only to departing passengers who have completed passport control formalities and transit passengers.

I will be arriving in NRT at around 7am and have a friend who will arrive at NRT at 12.30pm on the same day.

I do not have any check-in luggage. Upon arrival, can I book a room at the transit hotel for 5 hours and then meet my friend at Immigration Counter to proceed with immigration formalities?

My friend is on his first trip to Tokyo and I would prefer to meet him at Immigration counter so that I can assist him if there are any issues. Also, given the long wait, a short nap will be good. I will not be able to use the lounge since I do not have any outward ticket.

Any advice is greatly appreciated.
