The ‘West Coast - Bay Area’ of which country?

I’m assuming San Francisco area? There’s only one Bay Area.

Flying will probably be best. Although you could kayak there and avoid the seaplane transfer cost, although it may be a long kayak ride.

I'm assuming you mean SFO? Are you using points for flights? Do you want economy or business? Your question will probably be better suited for another thread and not this one as this is specific to the Conrad Maldives.

I personally like to go from the USA West Coast to Hong Kong, spend a day or two there, and then fly to MLE on Cathay Pacific. Probably the shortest route (MLE is literally on the other side of the earth from the West Coast).

Depending on your other plans Qatar Airways flies to Qatar direct from a number of USA airports and then you can catch a flight from Qatar direct to MLE. Emirates does the same out of Dubai. Another good route is to get to Sri Lanka and get a local flight to MLE from there. Note connection times as sometimes you'll have to spend a night in Qatar or Dubai.

There are also direct flights to MLE from Paris on Air France.

Don't think Cathay Pacific/HK would be good option atm tho...

Is SQ flying from SFO to MLE? Then take SQ as they have two flights per day. QR has two from DOH and the same as EK from DXB. EY has also two flights per day. Turkish has a daily flight and KE has also 5 flights per week but it does not stop in CMB for one hour.

1. Assuming you're not flying commercial, the fastest way is SQ through SIN.
2. The best way is EK in F through DXB. (Also less time in the air, but a longer connection.)
3. If your definition of best includes an element of frugality and comfort, then NH to BKK via NRT, overnight at the Novotel (3 minutes walk from the terminal) and then PG in the morning to MLE is not bad. NH has decent J and Y class on both segments
