Choosing the destination

I am lookin for your advice. I have about 3 weeks at the late September. I am interested in authentic culture and relegion , less beaches and relaxation.
I have been at northen india. My options are South India (Kerala&Tamil Nadu), Philippines, Vietnam, Cambodia &Laos. Your recommendations?

Welcome to FT!
Your question is pretty much unanswerable as written.
If you want people to give you advice and/or suggestions, you need to share what reading/research you have done and to provide more information.
What does "authentic culture" mean?
Do you want to spend three weeks doing meditation?
Do you want to travel a lot?
What is your budget? Where do you want to stay?
What did you do you in northern India?

I am mainly interested in the local culture and "authentic" religious ceremonies and less interested in long time relaxing (such as beaches and meditation). At my previous trip I visited and was amazed by Amritsar (Sikh), Spitti( Bhudist) and Varanasi (Hindu). As for now I hope that Kerala and Tamil Nadu (states which preserved their authentic culture) can provide me a vibrant expereince as well. The question is , should I go to another country, such as Cambodia/Laos, Philippines and Vietnam. As far as I know, those options are less intense than India in the cultural point. Moreover, I enjoyed the people of India and for instance as far as I read, locals in Vietnamese cities are not as nice. Cambodia/Laos are less packed with attractions and far less "intense" culturally speaking.
And still the question is - where to go?
Am I wrong with what I know about other countries?
Thank you

maybe consider Sri Lanka? Great religious and historic sites. Very nice hospitality. Some fantastic nature.

perhaps Bhutan. You might like the great festivals that are quite a spectacle.

I haven't been to Vietnam in several years, but not much in the way of religious places. Obviously Cambodia has amazing Khmer temples, but they are mainly historic sites these days. But the whole region has great hospitality as well.

Consider Myanmar also. Seeing you have late September thought - 3rd week of October is the Buddhist Thadingyut period which is a very interesting cultural and religious festival to attend.

Be mindful of weather. That's a very rain-prone time for some places, and if they get the really bad stuff (floods, typhoons, etc.) then that's the most likely time of year. For a place like Thailand it's an excellent time to hunt for deals, but they're deals for a reason. Some years you get away with it or just get rained on and watch your bus try to go through a foot and a half of water, but other years you get the more serious stuff that makes the news.
