The drivers have been Indian or Chinese and all but one spoke English well. Many offered to drive me for an entire day to other cities in Malaysia.
Obviously, it may be different in Jakarta. If anything, it will probably be cheaper.

Uber has been cheap enough in Malaysia that I just do multiple-stop trips. Like literally some my Uber black service trips have been 10-minute drives for the equivelent of $5. All of the cars have been Toyota Camry sedans, except for one BMW 3 Series.

Assuming Uber/Uberx are the same in a different country is foolhardy, especially as it seems you have no experience in Jakarta.
People who do have extensive experience in Jakarta have posted already. If you'd like to talk about Malaysian Ubers, I'm sure there are existing threads.

Tread carefully voicing comparison of Malaysian ways with those of Indonesia, at least doing so in country. Sister nations, sharing (well, more or less sharing) a language: but there are sensitivities !
Uber in Indonesia: I've met incredibly helpful drivers. Others had little clue but tried hard. Some were taciturn but got the job done. I always sit up front: I like to talk. The only negatives have been wait times, and the difficulties meeting up at CGK.
But I'm purely Uber X. Cars have been pretty ordinary saloons. I don't know about car makes and I'm not really interested - though i'd recognise a BMW if i fell into one

as long you don't provoke the topic of nation borders, football rivalry, migrant workers, cultural claiming, and a bit more other topics... you'll be fine.

as for Ubers...
Uber & Grab are relatively cheap here in Jakarta - although no longer THAT cheap as it used to be. this is due to current govt trying to regulate the online taxis including Uber.. but still definitely cheaper than standard taxi (i.e. Blue Bird). beware of traffic.
no longer have Uber Black in my apps. here in Jakarta, all I can see is Uber X (capacity up to four), Uber XL (capacity up to six), Uber Motor, and Uber Pool.
the most common cars are Japanese multi purposed vehicle: Toyota, Daihatsu, Suzuki, and to lesser extent Honda.
