Lodging in KL
Folks, looks as though I will be taking a 6 month assignment in KL and I've been doing quite a bit of research concerning hotels / serviced apartments. Having never visited the city, it's hard to make an informed decision. Hoping some of you can help.
While my office will be located in Capsqaure, I'm not certain if I should stay close by as I understand there isn't a whole lot to do after work. I'm terms of serviced apartments, I can do the Somerset Ampang or Park Royal. Going the hotel route adds a host of other options. Further, as I suffer from motion sickness, Taxi's on a daily basis are out of the question. Trains and walking will be my primary means of getting around.
Any thoughts concerning a good mixture of access to trains for getting to Capsquare and proximity to evening / weekend activities?
Thanks

There is tons to do after work near there, you are a few blocks from some of the most expensive hotels in KL such as Shangri-la, and you could stay at the Capsquare residences. Cost is the only reason not to live there.

Sadly, I can't stay at Capsquare residences due to corporate policies. So, in the vicinity, I can do the Sheraton or the Shangri-La. The concern becomes, as I will have a 6 month stay, should I chose a hotel (if possible) over the Somerset Ampang, or perhaps elsewhere.

Shangri-la is quite nice 5 star by world standards (much nicer than the Sheraton) and for 6 month stay you could do a deal. The Somerset Ampang would have washing machine and kitchen, but Shang will do all that for you
Personally I detest staying in hotels long term but given this choice I would pick the Shangri-la in a heartbeat. Negotiate to get Club included in your rate.
