Hello,

my wife and I are going to Bali for the first time and will be arriving sunday august 28th and leaving the afternoon sunday september 4th and I'd really appreciate some advice from people that have been there in planning our itinerary as I'm having a hard time figuring out a schedule and what would be easiest considering transportation to places, etc.

First, we currently have reservations at the anantara vacation club since we can stay using points - though we'd probably pay for a hotel in ubud for a few nights. I'm wondering if staying at anantara is a mistake given the other amazing and relatively cheap resorts that may be closer to beaches. Any thoughts on this?

Second, we would like to climb mt agnung, see ubud (monkey forest), and plan on 3-4 days of scuba diving.

Would it be better just to forget anantara and stay in ubud for the first 3 -4 days or so and take a trip to mt agnung from there and then move to a beach hotel (could use hilton points at conrad bali). Or should we just stay at anantara and hire cabs to go places or have the dive shops transport us?

Any help or suggestions greatly appreciated. thanks!!
