How many days in Dalat

I will be spending a few weeks in Vietnam during November. Most of the time will be in HCMC. I wanted a non-beach option to get out of the craziness for a side-trip. How many days before I run out of things to do/see. Any recommendations for hotels and restaurants (street food included).

I'd say 3-4 days is enough for Dalat, but you can always get out to more surrounding countryside if you want. The HCMC part sounds way too long though, if you're just being a tourist. If you have family/friends etc then ok, but most people tire of HCMC after just a few days also. But several day trips are possible with HCMC as a base.

In Dalat I recommend that you consider Ngoc Lan Hotel, 42 Nguyen Chi Thanh Street. This is a centrally located hotel, near the market and the Xuan Huong lake. You can have street food in the evening right across the street where there are rows of restaurants. Try a glass of warm soy bean drink like the natives do keep warm at night. From the Ngoc Lan Hotel, walk uphill toward the square which looks down at the market and explore that area by foot. There will be plenty of street food vendors with plastic chairs on the side walk and coffee shops.

I think 2-3 days will be more than enough to see the sights in Dalat and its surrounding.

Thank you maverick17 and hxhbk for your input.

I realize a couple weeks in HCMC is too long but I'm visiting a friend. That's why I asked about Dalat as a side trip if my schedule allows.

Cheers.

2 or 3 days top. There're not that much in Dalat, especially if you're coming from a colder climate.
