2 weeks Vacation - 3 countries

Greetings FT, 2013 will the year of many vacations. Don't Dream it- BE it.

I would like to go to SE Asia for two weeks in July 2013.

Goal:
-Visiting three different countries (Is this feasible?)
-Shopping/Nightlife/Food

Singapore is on the list. What other countries do you recommend?

Thanks in advance and Yes I did a search for short trips.

I did this trip 3 years ago. We went to 3 different countries, 5 different cities. It was tiring for a 3 week vacation, but totally enjoyed it. Our itinerary looked like this

Flew into Bangkok, Thailand then transfered to Vientiane, Laos for 4 days
Flew to Luang Prabang, Laos for 3 days
flew to Phuket, Thailand for 4 days
flew to Singapore for 6 days
flew to Bangkok Thailand for a few more days before heading home

Each location is just amazing. But there's a whole lot more places in SE Asia you can visit. There's Cambodia, Malaysia, Indonesia. Flying around is easy too. Lots of discount airlines costing around USD100 for each flight.

Since food is consideration of yours, consider Singapore, Hong Kong, and Kuala Lumpur. You can travel between Singapore & KL easily by bus/train/plane and then from either of those cities, grab a nonstop flight to HK. I think there's enough to do to fill 2 weeks with those three places, but you could add in yet another location with a quick side trip to Macau or China (Shenzhen comes to mind for cheap shopping) or even an entirely separate destination if your flight allows a stopover (maybe Tokyo-Narita or Seoul-Incheon).

Very feasible. Pick three of Hong Kong, Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand and you've got:

Big cities (Kuala Lumpur, Singapore, Jakarta, Bangkok, Hong Kong) with nightlife and shopping
Food (Hong Kong, Penang, Bangkok)
Acess to beaches and nature if you want it (Bali, Langkawi, Perhentians).

Thank you all for the suggestions.

@bqkali: you mentioned the Train so I did a search and I'm sold.

Fly to Singapore (3 days)
Train to Kuala Lumpar (3 days)

Either train to Bangkok or Fly to Hong Kong or maybe both If time permits.

I recommend stopping off in Penang on the way to Bangkok if you're a foodie.

I like Singapore but it is pretty boring imo. Food is unmatched and there is Orchard Road for shopping but nightlife in Singapore is downright ordinary. (which suits me perfectly fine, but I'm a boring kind of bloke)

Bangkok should probably top your list, great food, surprisingly good shopping, cheap and of course the legendary nightlife. KL ticks all these boxes too, although to a lesser extent on all fronts. HK just doesn't cut it imo as a shopping destination anymore for all but rich mainlanders; there's not many deals to be had and the big international brands are in pretty much every at least halfway developed city in Asia. Penang is better than KL for food but not by such a margin that I would go there instead of KL if I had to choose between the two and there were criteria other than food.

I wouldn't touch Phuket on a map, let alone go there on vacation.

Woah - I know that there are some pretty serious STDs that one can pick up in Thailand in general and Phuket in particular, but this must be a particularly dangerous and virulent strain to be contagious via a map!
