They're bringing some 773s into the fleet right now, so the "classic" days may be numbered.
Well, better late than never..thanks for sharing. Must try and find some of the routes that the DC-10's still fly and work a trip out accordingly.

Looks like Biman also have a few Fokker F-28 Fellowship's (Not sure if this comes in the region of a classic, but not too many of this aircraft type you see operating in Asia anyway).

Oh, I've experienced a few of those on Myanma Airways domestic. The ones they didn't crash, anyway! Come to think of it, also an F-27, but that was probably about 10-11 years ago.

To make things potentially more...exciting, Air Koryo has quite an interesting fleet, and a lot more flights in and out of FNJ than I really expected to see.

By "more exciting" I mean that it's the only airline that SkyTrax has graced with a one-star rating.

Which I suspect is as much political as anything. I'd be willing to fly Air Koryo over a lot of dodgier Indonesian domestic carriers, and certainly over nearly all (except the 2-3 major carriers) on the African Continent. Sure with embargo, their aircraft maintainance is likely piss-poor, but same-same for all the latter.

SkyTrax ratings can be bought, you do know that, right? (search FT threads of the last year for discussion of some of the upgraded ratings for a couple of the Chinese carriers). Which is why it's guidance is increasingly untrustworthy.

I flew a charter from Algeria to Mali on an L1011 last year. Most classics are going to be in Africa or doing service from Africa to the Middle East.

There is a charter service out of Melbourne that has a classic DC-3 for charter, special events and tours.
