Boracay is constantly rated as one of the best beaches in the world to visit.

Search this forum for Boracay and there is also plenty of other information about on it.

Boracay is good mostly for the diving, the top resorts you spend more money at, and hanging out with only tourists.

While 100 euros is big money for much of the Philippines - it's not for Boracay where room rates easily exceed that at the big resorts.

You might want to look into Subic Bay which has a more affordable range and still a great mix of activities.

If you plan to do nothing but be with each other for 2 weeks on isolated beaches and lounging by the pool - you might want to look into some of the smaller islands which are a PITA to get to, but will be better value and offer more privacy and little in the way of crowds.

+1

Boracay has that "I wanna be just like Maui" vibe to it.

Bohol and Cebu offer better (less wildly developed) choices.

LOL, I just read something this past week about Boracay with a similar comment, just replace Maui with Phuket.

Boracay still has the best sand but there are far too many people unless you stay in the Shangri-la.

Cebu/Bohol have some great resorts that have much less crowded beaches. Look at the Shangri-la and Plantation Bay in Cebu and the Ananyana, Amorita, Amarela and Eskaya in Bohol.

El Nido in Palawan is another place you should look at. A new place is Misibis Bay in Albay.

Good Luck!!!

The Philippines has plenty of beaches. It just depends where you feel like going. Hotel prices in the Philippines can range from EUR10-150. So, EUR100 can get you a room in the best hotels (except for the Aman report in Palawan)

Here are some recommendations:

1. Boracay - fine white sand; lots of restaurant options; most hotels are beachfront (10 meters from the hotel) but only some have a pool; water is calm
The most popular hotel (and expensive) with the best service is Discovery Shores (around EUR150) http://www.discoveryshoresboracay.com/home.php. The other option with your own beach is Shangri-la Borocay http://www.shangri-la.com/en/propert...cayresort(cost is slightly less than Discovery Shores). However, the sand is not that fine and the water is far from calm.

2. Palawan - there are a lot of places with nice beaches as it is a group of islands. Not much restaurant options but you can never go wrong with fresh seafood. Great place to go diving. I recommend El Nido resort. http://www.elnidoresorts.com/

3. Cebu - lots of places with nice beaches. Near the international airport is Shangri-la Mactan http://www.shangri-la.com/en/property/cebu/mactanresort. It has its own small beach. There are a lot of independent nice hotels in Mactan with their own beaches. Mactan is near the city unlike some beaches in Cebu which are far and remote but have spectacular beaches and diving sites.

4. Panglao, Bohol - also lots of places with nice beaches. nice place to go diving.
