My mother and I plan on going somewhere in late June but we keep on changing our minds due to several reasons.

First of all, money is kind of an issue since we are currently vacationing in Korea till mid July. Since we have been here, my moms been paying for my medical bill.

Second of all, we both have different "expectations" when we are on vacation. My mom prefers touring around different areas especially scenic areas. However, I prefer relaxing out on the beach and eating.

We plan on paying the airfare with our mileage aboard Asiana or any other Star Alliance partner if necessary. We want to go to a place in Japan or Southeast Asia since we don't have enough miles after that. For hotel, we plan on splitting between cash and mileage.

Places we thought of going include Hong Kong, Tokyo, Singapore, and Jeju (Korea). Tokyo and Singapore we figured will be expensive in terms of food and hotel. We already saw the IHC F&F rate along with the Radisson rate.

We've already visited Kota Kinabalu and Phuket in the past. Also, we have no interest in going to China other than Hong Kong.

So I would appreciate to get some feedback/recommendations on places to go.

Although I haven't been yet (I'll be going in July), why not Bali. Best of both worlds maybe?

Another place is maybe Vietnam (going in July); Nha Trang apparently is the beach area, and places to see in Vietnam are numerous. You could easily stay at a guesthouse and pay cash
