HELP-New Years Suggestions

Hi,
I tried searching for this in the history but did not come up with anything. Other than wandering the streets with bottle in hand does anyone have any ideas of what to do on NYE. I understand that it is not a huge night for partying but we would like to find something interesting.

We are a group of 6 30 somethings who are not looking for a club or 7 am party.

Some thoughts?

Tango show?
Dinner?
Pub/Bar?

Thank you in advance.

Hi Drunkmuppet! I assume you'll be in Buenos Aires on NYE? Having lived in London for 14 years it took me a while to get used to NYE here. If you're in the street at midnight with a bottle you'll pretty much be on your own! Generally, people spend the evening with family or friends with a big dinner at home then, around 2am, people start to come out and party! There is no central public place like Trafalgar Square or Times Square that people gather to see in the New Year.

A lot of the top hotels have a special NYE dinner/party but they are ridiculously expensive (for me at least - I have no idea what your budget is) and I have no idea what availability would be like at this late stage. You could certainly find a restaurant and see in the New year there. Forget about bars - they are empty at midnight on a normal evening so if you do find one that is open so early you will be seeing in the new year with the barman!

Thanks

That's what we were kind of expecting but did not know if there is something we missed.
We are in Palermo staying in Private apartments as we speak. Love the city, but are a little disappointed for NYE.

Thanks for the info.

Keith
