Now, I say an all time low because since moving here exactly a year ago I must say from what I have seen during that time the quality of football from both the league teams and the national side has been very poor IMHO. If the great man himself proves to be right about his forthcoming appointment it looks as if his first game in charge could be against my country of birth - Scotland at Hampden Park, Glasgow in November. Now if Argentina can't beat Scotland, Maradona's role as head coach could be one of the shortest ever. :D Unfortunately, yes: the national team has been playing poorly. They have amazing talent and one wonders if it is an issue of motivation. Hard to say. If it is, perhaps Maradona makes more sense than at first glance. |
Has anybody from FT converted to this church yet?

Sure... Hiddy was made Archbishop last week.... :D
The English still moan about the "hand of God" goal against them in the 86 World Cup. Good results for the two Argentine teams in the Copa Sudamericana last night.^ Helped in part by the idiotic self induced sending off one of the Botofogo players. (not a good idea to wrench the yellow card from the referees hand and wave it back at him) :D |
Wow... you are a real football fan!!! I didnt watch any of the games yesterday.... I guess I will have to watch the fiasco this evening... with River getting their butt kicked out of the cup. I guess we will now have no more Cholito Simeone at DT...
 |

It's amazing how patriotic one becomes when the teams of your adopted homeland play against the Brazilians. ;)

 Boca were dreadful and it clearly shows they do not have enough depth of talent in the team when certain players are missing. |
Indeed.... was that stupid or what...? I could not believe my eyes when they managed to go up 2-0 and then it was business as usual with them messing it up.... it clear that the team misses having Juan Pablo Carrizo in Goal, this Ojeda fellow is one or two sizes below what a team like River Plate needs to have as a Goalkeeper. Aside from that.... there is no senior fullback that can organize the defense, so even if your front guys have a good day then you can never rest assure that your defenders will be able to cope with the onslaught from the rivals that always come when they are down in the scoreboard.....
So, all we now need is for the America de Mexico to fire Ramon Diaz... and perhaps we will at least have a decent coach to begin work for the 2009 season....??????? The exit of Simeone should give him ample time to deal with his (ex)wife.... of course if he is able to get her to stop porking the HeMan look-alike life guard that every paparazzi magazine seems to be writing about...   |

He is now fighting with Julio Grondona (president of the Argentine Football Association) about one of his 'assistants'....
Guess he will be going to Scotland... |
