When will the Bombonera be closing?

I am going over to Buenos Aires at the start of November, hopefully to catch a few matches. One of them is Boca v San Lorenzo.

I know the Bombonera will be closing for restructuring, however i am getting conflicting reports on when this will happen. Firstly I thought it would be closed for the entire Arpertura campaign, now I am hearing it is being delayed until November.

Would anybody know the dates (currently) when they plan to start work?

Bombonera..?????? What is that... I think its a pigstall somewhere in the south of the City of Buenos Aires... full of lousy shouting people......?

Great question.... the Bombonera will indeed be closed for some time while they do some sort of work on it to expand capacity.... I will check this out and get back to you with what I find.

November 3 they'll start restructuring the "pigstall" (totally agree with you Gaucho100K) I think you'll have the chance of watching Boca-San Lorenzo in there (it's supposed to be played November 2)
Good luck!

Here is a link to the page on the Boca Juniors website with some interesting details of the renovations, http://www.bocajuniors.com.ar/englis...07/15/1761.php .

Does anyone know where Boca will be playing their "home" games while the Bombonera is closed ?

Also does anyone know how long the stadium will be closed ? From the list of work to be done I am guessing that it will take longer ( a lot longer ) than a couple of months.

I had asked a Boca Fan (seriously ill in his love for Boca) about this yesterday, and he told me that the renovation had been put off for some time...... need to still double check this.

Thanks for all your help.

I take it then that this will be a very popular game, and as such any tour operators will be charging a high price for this.

This probably has been asked many times before, but who are the best tour operators?, or woul dit be best to just go to get a ticket the day before the match?

Hi, I'll be in BA this Thursday-Monday. Is it possible to catch a game here during that time?

I tried to find schedules, but I am struggling. The only schedule I saw (not even sure if it was right) looked like the season ended June 30th.

Thanks

CPMaverick, you won't be watching any Argentine Premier League matches this weekend, as the Apertura 2008 schedule doesn't begin until the weekend of August 10th.

Here is a link to the schedule;
