boca - river
hi people,
i wanted to ask about the game on sunday, i know that it isn´t easy to get tickets to this game, but do you know when the boxoffices are going to open for this game and what are the odds of getting a ticket from there.
i know that i can buy a ticket from a tourist office, but i don´t want to pay 250 - 400 pesos for this game if i can (hopefully) buy it from the stadium at 30 pesos...
thanks,
rotem.

Sorry to sound blunt.... but there is no chance in hell you will be able to get a ticket. The ratio of demand vs. supply for this game is something like 8 to 1.
Your only chance is a tour service.

Allow me to elaborate further on why the tour service is your only chance...
Both Boca and River have huge groups of supporters, with a very large % also being Club Members and season ticket holders. This means that less than 5% of all stadium tickets are not already sold before each of these super-clasico games.
Therefore your only source aside from the tour services will be the scalpers... where you run the risk of getting fake tickets and also not properly understanding where you will be seated (if the tickets are good).... or you would have to go with the masses that are not season ticket holders and camp out 48 hours before the very few non pre sale tickets are put on sale at the stadium.... and be prepared to get only 1 ticket per person if you camp out 2 days before and have an early enough slot in the line... etc. etc.
Trust me... while the tour service will of course include a mark-up, its your best bet... they also include transportation to and from the game, and the ticket they usually get are decent.
On a final note.... just for reference, if you are lucky enough to find a scalper that has tickets to some of the best seats in the stadium for such a game, you should expect to pay approx. US$500-600 per ticket.

Looks as if it's going to be a great game as well hopefully. A hard one to call as they are both playing well.
I always favoured Boca but I have been impressed with River over recent weeks until the San Lorenzo game the other night that is.
I shall plump for the home team just to have the edge this time. ^

And I had you down as a San Lorenzo fan Gaucho100K.
Just in case I was wrong, I played safe and was quite diplomatic in my post just showing slight favour to Boca as they are the home team. I must say I have had a slight leaning towards supporting River this year as they have played the better football. ^
River have a better stadium as well.

ps. If you served me a corked Malbec I would probably keep quiet and drink it.

Well... of course El Monumental is a better stadium... alas, the atmosphere you get in the shoebox that la Bombonera is cannot be replicated elsewhere.

A local radio station had a story running yesterday about a couple of visitors from Scandinavia that paid USD3500 for a pair of tickets to the Boca-River game...

Thats SuperBowl kind of money for tickets...

Sad to see that this forum appears to be populated mostly by depressingly high brow elitist millonarios rather than the more authentic bosteros
Si, si señores yo soy de Boca, si si señores de corazon, porque este año desde la Boca, desde la Boca sale un nuevo campeón
