Smile Cell Phone - Voice & Data Coverage

Hello

I'll be coming to B.A in March from Toronto, canada.

I did as much research as I could on the web, but I couldnt really find out anything about pricing for SIM Cards with voice and data coverage for blackberry phones.

I'll have a blackberry 8310 unlocked phone.

I need to have voice and data coverage while i"m there.
3-4 months. come think of it, I need a place too, but I'll start another thread for that....

I'm fairly certain I can get some sort of service from
http://www.movistar.com.ar/empresas/

Other forums and threads point to movistar as well. But I havent found any hard info on this.

The movistar website doesnt seem to provide any info on plans..prepaid SIM cards..etc... or short term plans ..... or at least none which I could decipher by my non existing spanish ...

Thanks a bunch.

You do have a couple of other choices http://www.personal.com.ar/ and
http://www.cti.com.ar/

I have Movistar on a contract and have been very happy with the service. Not sure if you can get a short term contract or will have a pre paid as your only option. From my understanding extranjeros are not supposed to qualify for a contract but my assistant managed to get me this one.

Movistar has a large store on Avenida Corrientes, which should be able to help you with selecting the plan that is best for you.

Apparently you're meant to have a DNI (National Identity Document) to get a contract.

If your are near the Palermo Portal shopping mall, Movistar, CTI, and Personal all have kiosks on the ground floor within a few meters of each other. That would probably be an easy way to see what's available, without traipsing around the city.
