My regular use of the Hilton in Puerto Madero has become a thing of the past -- instead I now have returned to the hotels in older neighborhoods, including the Park Hyatt.

Of the major international branded hotels, the two Sheraton hotels are the ones I find least useful -- even less useful than the Holiday Inn "Puerto Madero".

Well I stayed at the Hilton too on my first trip there, and also the Marriott. The Hilton is nicer hotel, but the area is very Modern (like any other city that has new areas), so for sightseeing maybe not best place to stay, although its not long walk to the central areas, I like the theater (live stage shows) area and cafes, which is not within short walk f the Hilton, closer to other hotels. But for Business, Hilton is very good choice.

I prefer the Marriott due to the location and the charm of the hotel The Sheraton's just aren't that nice. I haven't stayed at the hilton before.

I haven't been in it but I always think the Marriott when I pass it has the 'right look' for a hotel....very impressive building. ^

The Marriott Plaza is a great hotel... the Grill there is an outstanding old school restaurant. Expensive, but for a good reason.... ^

Hiddy, next time you come to town get your wife's permission and we will go get a bloody steak at El Grill.... ^

I liked it also when I stayed last year for 4 nights before moving on. Location in spades and paid a small upgrade to a nicely appointed park view room with patio so a very pleasant experience all around.

The older Sheraton Buenos Aires is down the hill from the Plaza Marriott at the other end of Plaza San Martin across from Retiro train station. All have pools.
If location is paramount I'd pick the Marriott, otherwise Hilton.
I'd agree on location, etc. I've stayed at them all and my favorite is the Hilton in Puerto Madero. It's not that far out of the way and is walkable to Florida, etc. Although, going into Recoleta, etc. you'll need to grab a taxi. Anyway, just my two cents, but I definitely like the Hilton the most out of the Sheraton, Park Towers, or Marriott.

If you're in Buenos Aires for sightseeing or visiting without a car, stay at the Alvear or at the Marriott Plaza. If you are there on business, the Hilton is great -- it's in a modern, business area (Puerto Madero) and it's easier with a car/ driver.
