Aerolineas -- Construction moving flights from AEP to EZE

Not sure if this is posted anywhere...

Just got off the phone with an AR reprsentative, who said that due to construction at AEP some flights are being switched to EZE in the coming months.

She said that schedule changes for November 06 will be available next week.

Please reconfirm your flights the day before you fly, since these re-scheduling has been going back & forth between AEP and EZE.... the are some union and work permit related issues that have thrown things into a chaos of sorts.

Exclamation Important Update

Starting today 10/31/2006 at 2300hs, approx. 40% of all flights operated from AEP will be moved to EZE. This means adding a good hour or so to your expected travel time if your flight has been moved to Ezeiza International Airport. If your domestic flight has the following destinations, make plan to head to EZE:

Salta
Bariloche
Neuquen
Rio Grande
Rio Gallegos
Usuahia
Salta
Mendoza
El Calafate

Also, if your flight is operated by MD metal, its almost certain you will have to go to EZE. Finally, all night flights are being diverted to EZE, as AEP will be closed from 2300 until 0600 hours until all the construction work is completed.

Would be nice if they posted it somewhere on their website (either the airport or the airlines).

For those of you checking in at Ezeiza for a flight transferred from AEP, they are leaving from a makeshift gate area just to the right of international arrivals in Terminal A (not Terminal B normally used by Aerolineas).

Buy your food / drinks elsewhere -- there was one lonely food cart past security with the most expensive water I saw in Argentina, and not much else.

Also, these flights arrive by bus into a makeshift baggage claim area in Terminal B. All flights share the same belt and the room gets very crowded.

AEP has now resumed normal operations.... no more flights are being diverted to EZE. Operations will continue normally until mid next year, when AEP will again be disrupted for phase II of the extension of the runway... it seems that phase II will take about 5 months, time during which EZE will again be the only commercial airport able to serve large commercial aircraft.

Thank you for the info. I feel better now knowing from which A/P I'll depart.
Flying AEP-IGR at the begining of Feb.

Youre welcome... please make sure to check flight info close to your departure date as things tend to change on short notice with this remodelation & expansion job.
