Post current bookings into EZE (as tourists) - experiences?

I wonder if folks that may be trying to get themselves booked on flights into EZE starting Nov 1st would care to share what their experiences are looking like...? Im getting conflicting information from different sources, it seems that not all airlines are playing by the same rule-book.

In theory, Argentina is again open for Tourist (with full vaccination) starting November 1st - but it seems that the Devil is (still) very much in the details......

Thanks for sharing any info you may have....

Cheers from EZE,
Alex / Gaucho100K

My trip for this week - tried to rebook (AA) with no add/collect. Since my outbound flight has not canceled (SFO/DFW/EZE) AA won't rebook without an add/collect. "I" looks pretty much removed from inventory for months to come. The $2K "I" fare would turn into a nearly $6K "D" fare. No thank you. AA would credit for a full refund, which I took. (She said it will show as a travel credit until it fully processes.... we shall see.)

DL seems to be willing to sell me a ticket (at a ridiculous price) in full fare fully refundable business class (J). They're also willing to sell an AR codeshare through JFK for about a quarter of the price, but I can't see anything that looks like a fare class for the AR routing. I also notice that DL doesn't seem to be giving me the option to fly AR in one direction and DL the other way. [I'm logged in on the app and DL knows what passport I have.]

For the outbound, I'm seeing 3 D1 seats blocked, about 23 occupied, and 8 available, which normally would be about a D fare (DL business class fare classes in order: Z I D C J) assuming that the available seats on the seat map represent true inventory availability. J class usually means extremely last minute and/or last or second to last seat availability. For the return, the same 3 seats are blocked, 5 are occupied, and everything else is open. C+ and coach seat maps are similarly open, but it's still J class. Ouch.

BREAKING NEWS.

The Argentine Government has just announced that the ANAC (the Argentine FAA) will lift all COVID related restrictions & cuotas on International Flight operations into Argentine Airspace. This measure is effective October 19th. This should mean the start of going back to normal for flying in/out of EZE in the very near future.

Stay tuned... more details as they become available.

That will be a great relief as the earliest I could recently find a sub-$3000 lie flat RT is next March, and there are almost no scheduled trans-andina flights now.

JFK 2 EZE ON AA in late November booked this past weekend. I need to DL the an app and have it for 14 days while in country and fill out the travel/health affidavit. I need travel insurance with mandatory Covid quarantine and hospitalization coverage from what I have read. I need to take an approved PCR 72HRS maximum arrival/departure and I also believe mandatory antigen test on arrival and departure plus pay for them which I expected. States no quarantine if fully vaccinated and negative clearly. I am still gathering all info/details so I can be prepared ahead of time. That is all I have for now and my ticket does state there are current restrictions for me of course as we are a couple weeks away from the 1st. If anyone has any other info please let me know I would appreciate it.

Wow! A little bit more cumbersome and costly than I thought

Flew back yesterday on AV219. Its apparent why there is always award space and AV consistently has the lowest J fares in South America 😂. But hey I got back to EZE so thats all that mattered. Kind of nice arriving after midnight as everything moves fast.

The no quarentine has been confirmed - so thats one step in the right direction. The testing after you leave the airport issue is indeed a hassle, but its being reported here that this requirement may be lifted sometime in November once the full vaccination metrics of Argentina improve beyond 50%. One other thing Im trying to figure out is if the local testing sites that are free will also be offering free tests to Tourists.... Im working on getting a confirmation of this and will report back when/if I can get more details.

I want to be cautious about this... would not want to raise false expectations.

Will come back as I know more.

Any idea about how this will work for kids that cannot get vaccinated yet? If I read the law correctly it seems to say 7 days quarantine for kids regardless, but I wasn't sure I was reading correctly.

thank you for your time gathering all of those information

So just to summarize what is officially confirmed:
- the borders are opened for fully vaccinated tourists from 1st November
- you need to take PCR test lately 72hrs before the flight to EZE
- no quarantine on arrival

What is not officially confirmed:
- you need to take a antigen on arrival?
- you need to take a PCR after 5-7 days when you are in the country?

Antigen on arrival no longer required, and test on Day 5 was eliminated today. This means that the only requirements standing are fully vaccinated + PCR test 72 hours before the flight.

The government also clarified that there will be no quarantine for unvaccinated children.
