For those that visit EZE on a regular basis... what is the current situation with the US airlines and EZE Service.... is it possible to book travel from the US to EZE for 2021... what are the airlines offering in terms of date changes & other flexibilities....??

I have an early October 2020 RT on United and a early March 2021 on COPA booked. No issues at all in ticketing at this time for any flights.. my only concern is how the Argentine government is going to be handling foreigners (Covid related) when entering the country. I haven�t read anything about that so far.

United is offering free changes on tickets booked prior to August 31 (but they�ve been rolling out that date and I expect an extension) COPA is offering free changes however travel must commence by December 31, 2020 for that to be applicable

Madame and I wanted to go to Buenos Aires for the December Holidays, but given the situation we might just postpone it till mid-2021. I monitor AF prices on the CDG-EZE route from time to time, and they have not changed much from the pre-Covid era -- between 700-1200 euros for a return ticket. Lots of Flying Blue availability in Economy. Business seems more restricted.

I'd be careful with booking hotels, in Argentina and elsewhere. For the last months I have been seeing great rates for late 2020/early 2021 that looked more like desperate appeals for funding rather than an actual engagement to host you next year. Unless the rate was so cheap I'd not mind losing the money if they went out of business, I'd stick to major chains where possible.

Apparently ANAC ( Civil Aviation ) want the Ministry of Health to be the purveyors of bad news.

Most airlines are rescheduling in any case as they don't want to be left in a state of limbo

Personally I am only buying tickets a few days before travel due to continually changing flight schedules, cancellations, entry requirements, and required 14 day quarantines. Unfortunately I'm convinced the current health issues will still be around at least until mid 2021. Just when it seems one country or area (like the EU) can relax restrictions, infections surge and new limitations/ mandatory quarantines are imposed on short notice.

AFAIK DL's only South American service at this point is the ATL-GRU flight, although there was a good deal D1 fare to Chile reported earlier this month showing a scheduled flight from ATL for November IIRC.

I'm not sure whether it would wise to book connections into EZE using some of DL's local partners at the moment as they seem to be having financial difficulties.

OTOH, fully refundable hotel reservations could be a smart move if you see especially good rates. Just don't forget to cancel them if the situation goes south so that you can't go south.

The situation is only now now getting worse despite nearly six months of lockdown. I think you'd have to be brave or mad to even think of coming here before the end of the year for a holiday.

There is an ongoing food fight between the City of Buenos Aires and the Province of Buenos Aires... the City is controlled by Rodriguez Larreta (he belongs to the PRO party, as does Macri), while the Province is now run by a Marxist Dwarf that belongs to the band of K Thugs & the Peronic Plague Party.... the latest I heard was that the City wants to open hotels and tourismo for both domestic and international travellers as soon as October, but the Federal Government wants nothing of that... EZE is in the Province, but AEP is in the City.... the problem is that the Argentine FAA is of course inside the jurisdiction of the Federal Government (and the Executive Power), so some of the rumours that the City wanted to open AEP to regional international flights so that tourism could come back in are probably way too far fetched.... the idea was that tourists could fly to one of the regional airports that is "open" for business and then hop over to AEP... but while the borders are still closed, all this is pure fantasy....

Interesting. DL has flights between ATL and GRU now, so a regional partner flight to AEP would work under this plan (which apparently isn't going to happen anytime soon).

Remember that AEP is closed for runway work until mid-December at the earliest.
