Customs process to be 'speeded' up at EZE.

The scanning of all luggage is to be scrapped at EZE as well as at other international airports in Argentina.
There will be two lanes, a green 'nothing to declare' lane and a red 'goods to declare' lane. Random searches will take place in the green lane and if you're caught with goods over the allowed limit they will be confiscated.

A big improvement.....hopefully.

I wonder if this means they're going to regularly collect the declaration forms.

God only knows...

Hope they now sort out the door to door delivery service. Four months later and I'm still waiting for my small loose tea order to arrive from the UK. I've obviously been earmarked as a tax evader.

According to the press they're going to collect the customs forms only if you go through the "something to declare" channel. If you go through the "nothing to declare" lane and still get searched and they find you brought something declarable into the country, they're going to fine you on the spot.

I'm flying to Rome next month. Hopefully on the way back those horrific queues at customs will be gone.
