Taxi Premium accepts Credit Cards, but more and more, other Radio Taxi companies and "normal" Cabs (ie those with no radio service) are starting to take Plastic. The best chance to have a Cab that will take cards is to try to look out for the brand-new looking vehicles, drivers with the $$$ to have new cards are also the most prone to take more "modern" forms of payment. While this wont guarantee that you will be able to use credit cards, it does improve your chances. Also, Cabs that take cards will almost always display this feature very relevantly on their "livery" so its kind of hard to miss.....

Beside Taxi Premium, there's the app "BA Taxi", which appears to be operated by the BA city government, allows you to summon cabs, and lets you pay by credit card. @Gaucho100K, what's your input on this app? Seems legit?

I had a heck of a time trying to use Uber last September when I was in BA. For kicks, I thought I'd give it a try at AEP and proceeded to the pick-up area in the parking lot. I can't recall how many drivers cancelled on me.
I was able to use it successfully just once in the city.

Sounds like it's working better now, but since I've happily used taxis in BA for the last decade, not sure I'd switch unless I couldn't easily find a taxi.

I don't even use my regular guy for AEP pickups after one attempt. To actually try and meet anyone there is nearly-impossible. It is just best to get a taxi.

As for very recent Ubernotes (TM),
1) First attempted ride, he asked if I was going to pay cash. When I said no, he would not take me and canceled the ride.
2) Second attempted ride, when I got in the back, he asked me to sit up front. Successful ride. Driver from the Provincia so I suggested alternate more efficient routing than his GPS..
3) Third attempted ride, when I saw the pricing, I thought "eff it" and took a taxi, which cost less. I was also leaving an area where an experienced taxi driver would get me back home more efficiently than a driver (relying on GPS) from the Provincia who comes to the City for the weekend to drive.

There is a new system at Aeroparque for regular taxis. You get a prefixed price from a computer inside the terminal before you join the line outside. You get two tickets , one for you and one for the driver . No more arguing over price. Shortly to be extended to Ezeiza and Buquebus.

Having more Uber problems. They often cancel if you are using credi card. It’s ok with international credit card, but the Uber drivers can’t tell what kind you have. Apparently they don’t always report their cash fares and pay Uber. So once a customer uses an Argentine credit card, the driver is charged for all the commissions on the cash sales that weren’t paid. Seems so ridiculous as they know that they have tp pay Uber the commission.

Cabify is a better solution than Uber in Bs As - never had one Cabify driver cancel on me.

My record with Uber is 8 on one ride.....

I used Uber during the past two weeks on seven or eight occasions. Each time I utilized the pay cash mode, drivers gave change, came on time, were very courteous and even used Waze on several occasions. I was very pleased.

Thanks for this, I just downloaded the taxi premium app as I think we need to give Uber a pass because of the resistance in Argentina. Do you have any idea if this works in the Salta area as well?

As far as I know, Taxi Premium does not operate outside of the City of Buenos Aires. For Salta Taxi issues, I suggest you check with Concierge Desk of your Hotel, as they should be able to give your proper info. My guess is that if you want to order Cars by phone you will need to work with a Car Service Company (Remiseria they are called in Argentina).

According to sources (the Identity of which Im currently not at liberty to disclose), Uber is getting close (very) to settling all of its legal, local tax compliance, insurance and labour related issues with the City of Buenos Aires. This would pave the way for a fully licensed and 100% "legal" Uber in CABA (the City) and also in the Province of Buenos Aires.

The only thing that remains to be seen is what attitude the always militant Taxi Unions will take once this is officially announced.

Stay tuned...... but IMHO, until all this is formally announced I would still be careful of using Uber, as I think that the risks outweigh the benefits - especially at the current cost of licensed Taxis to the average visitor.

For getting into city from EZE, is Uber a good option or are there any pre-paid taxi services available from the airport?

Many pre-paid taxi services and all take credit cards. You purchase the ticket indoors, right after leaving the customs X-ray area (in the next little room before you enter the main hall) and will be escorted out to your vehicle. It is the easiest (but not necessarily least expensive) option. Manuel Tienda Leon charges a good chunk more than the others - there will be 3 or 4 companies to choose from.

Uber is still problematical in Bs As . If you speak Spanish I would try - very few Uber drivers are bilingual . The airport wifi works well but you hav to agree an meeting point with the driver .
