I think it would be useful to concentrate most info. and comments on the various museums in town in one thread. To all the board regulars, please assist me in posting information and comments to make sure this thread remains current & updated.

The MAMBA just reopened (there still is a lot if work to do, and it is only partially complete). It is a pleasant space, and is currently only AR$1 to get in, unless you want to enter a raffle. Av. San Juan a couple blocks up from Paseo Colon. (San Telmo)

Is the Buenos Aires Natural Sciences museum good like the La Plata one? Is it worth it?

The furnishings are fabulous and it lets you see how the really rich lived in BA in the first half of the last century.
The other similar experience is the Palacio San Martin which is still the formal space of the Foreign Affairs Ministry which is open at times for tours. They are sometimes published in the BA Herald.
