The good news is that there is a ton of free WiFi - in Buenos Aires at least. Most cafes, bars and restaurants have WiFi and the subway is wired too.

Yes, Claro and Movistar offer Internet 3G prepaid (I'm now sure about Movistar), sometime their prepaid service is down (Claro), I tried to use 1hour pack in July and they took/stole all my balance (45 pesos) at that time, I made few complains and after 3 weeks I did not receive my credit
. Movistar have a better Customer Service (for complains) but Claro has a better 3G coverage
