Apartment in November

My wife and I are coming to Buenos Aires for 10 days in November and found a nice apartment online from a company called "WaytoBAway." I searched this forum and didn't find any references to this company. Has anyone done business with them before? The apartment is listed as near Junin and Ave. Las Heras in Recoleta. Is this a good neighborhood?

Thanks!

I have never heard of that agency but there are so many now.

The area is fine - right in Recoleta, a block away from the cemetery and a central location from which to explore the rest of the city. Av. Las Heras is very busy with traffic and noisy colectivos (buses) 24/7 but if I'm looking at the same apartment as you it seems to be rear-facing so you shouldn't have a problem with the noise in that particular flat.

One tip for apartment rentals is to record the serial numbers of the bills used for the security deposit on the envelope. Once everybody agrees, seal the envelope. I hear occasional stories about bills getting replaced with counterfeit ones.

Make sure you have separate, exact change for the apartment payment and the security deposit as they are not going to be able to make change for you.

Before you decide, I would suggest shopping around with agencies like......

BA Habitat
Apartments BA

We rented an apartment in Recoleta on Sanchez de Bustamante and Pacheco de Melo from an agency called ByT Argentina. They were very helpful in the selection process, and the pictures of the apartment look nice. I'll post a review after our trip.

I've rented from them a few times. Mostly good reports, though you're dealing with individual owners (with the ByT agent there as well), so it can be hit and miss.

I've had a couple of real crummy beds at some of them, so if it's important, make sure you specify non-futon, etc type bedding.

I rented on three separate occasions from BuenosAiresHabitat and the service is very good; on time, the properties look exactly like the pictures on line (down to the linen, towels and flowers), the transaction very simple and I never had any problems when they came back to check me out of the apartment.
Highly recommend them.
(I have no financial interest in the company - just a very happy customer)

I used to live on the exact same block a few years back. It's a great location ^

If you want to rent an apartment, please use only established agencies, various of them have been mentioned in this thread.
