Looking at flying Pluna AEP to PDP in just over two weeks time. Seeing as this thread is a little old, any recent experiences to share?

Many years since I last flew with them....it was an old 737-200 with smoking engines.

They do have a good reputation down here for offering no nonsense punctual services with a modern fleet of short haul aircraft at very competitive prices. The downside is as you have probably gathered, they don't offer many frills. Luggage allowance both checked in and carry on is poor....so I think that might be your main worry.

Yes, but enforcement of luggage allowances is very variable.... be prepared for the worse but with a little luck they will cut you some slack....

Our experience with Pluna has been very good. And, as Gaucho notes, they didn't enforce the weight limit on luggage.

One question: We are looking at flights from AEP either to Mvd or Pdp. Punta is our destination. Yet, we had heard that the Pdp flts are less reliable, or more often delayed than those to Mvd, which is only another hour or so by car from Punta. Has anyone had that experience or know if that's accurate? Thanks.

Flew AEP-MVD earlier today. They delink kids from the reservation - so couldn't check mine in (and select seats). They weren't very firm with luggage weight (most of our bags were a few KGs over). But - flight was delayed 2 hrs (and AR left on time!) - supposedly due to Argentine ATC (believe this happens more often). Flight good, short and with very limited service. Arrival in MVD a breeze.

FYI - many flights to PDP seem to have been canceled the past few days. I suppose they bus people via MVD so not a huge deal (adds 1.5 hrs to your trip).

Thanks Erik. Bus, worst!!
Why do they unlink your kids?!

OT: Do I bring USD with me to both Argentina and Urugay?
Are cabs safe from PDP, or should it be pre-booked?

Not sure why they delink kids - they explained the reservation system does that automatically. Put them in as adults if the price is the same to avoid this I'd say. You will be seated with your kids in any case - it's not the US.

Taxis from PDP are mostly late model Mercedes, well regulated, and on par with what you would experience in say Switzerland - and just as expensive. No need to prebook.
