why the long delay in posting points

Anyone else experiencing a long delay in having trip points posted? i travelled on March 9th and 10th and also on March 16th and still no posting of points. Usually they post within 5 to 7 days. anyone else having trobles? also, with the 2x 3x 4x promotion, why does agr say that 3x rewards wont post until end of promotion period. seems a bit stange to me. has anyone tried the hyatt promotion.. stay 8 nights and get 20,500 to 24,000 agr points. i have stayed 4 nights so far and all my hyatt points have posted...really nice promo

I traveled on March 7 HAR-PIT and PIT-CHI (arriving in Chicago on March 8). The HAR-PIT posted on March 13 and the PIT-CHI posted on March 17.

On March 9 I traveled CHI-WAS (arriving March 10) and because of a delayed train, had to exchange a ticket to travel WAS-NHV. The CHI-WAS posted on March 17.

The WAS-NHV ticket has not posted yet. I'm surprised it hasn't; I don't know if that it is an exchanged ticket is a problem. I'll wait another 8 days (until March 31) when three weeks has passed to request the missing credit.

Does the stub have your AGR number on it? It might not have transferred over when they changed your ticket

I, too, noticed that. In my experience, even though they say 'please allow 4-6 weeks for the automatic posting of Amtrak transactions', it's typically around 7-10 days. Worth noting (I meticulously track such things), the average time to post tickets has steadily increased since (perhaps coincidentally) the advent of the new contractor.

As of this morning, I have 30 tickets unposted (though only 15 of those were traveled 7 or more days ago, and of those only 10 were 10 or more days ago). I wonder if they're suspending posting for a while while their developers put the finishing touches on the code for the Spring Promo.

I think I can shed light on

OK, it is an educated guess as a developer.
What I think they mean is that:
Remember that a last-minute condition they added is that only the first two segments each day qualify. This is a condition that can evaluated on a per-ticket basis simply in the context of that day's travel. The condition that the first four qualifying trips are doubled and the fifth and subsequent ones are tripled has to be evaluated in the context of travel during the whole promo period.

So what I think will happen is:
The first two trips each day besides NTD will be doubled at the same time as they post (actually, in my experience, the bonus points for doubling promotions post the day after the base points, but they are backdated to appear to have posted the same day, in a vain attempt to fool the inattentive )
The first two trips on NTD will be quadrupled at the same time as they post (again, because this condition can be evaluated simply in the context of NTD itself).
Then once the dust has settled, and each member's whole promo-time travel activity is clear, they will go back and add another base-points-worth of points (completing the tripling) to the fifth and subsequent qualifying trips (the fifth and subsequent trips among those that were the first or second on their respective travel date). Again, they will probably backdate them to appear to have posted on the same day as the base points.

I won't pretend for a moment to promise that this is how it will actually shake out, but it seems likely to me. I've only travelled Amtrak since Dec 07, so others may have more accurate ideas based on their multiplying-promotion experiences, but IIUC this is the first 'double-or-maybe-triple' promo they've ever run.

Hope this helps!
Chris

It's on there. I may have been frazzled with the missed connection, but I noted that the AGR number was on the ticket .

Edited to add -- for what it is worth, the WAS-NHV portion was credited on March 25, 2009 (15 days after the travel). I hadn't contacted Amtrak Guest Rewards yet.

FWIW, my avg posting time since the switch has been 8-9 days - statistically unchanged from before.
