Downeaster Promotions
12/30 I took the Downeaster from Boston (BON) to Portland and back for a one day get-away. A great trip, free Wifi, wonderful customer service by the staff, and a fantastic way to see the snow covered New England scenery. One of the best bargins is to upgrade to Business Class for a few dollars more.
The Downeaster Travel Guide handed out onboard has the following discounts on that route, which I haven't seen posted here yet:
V687 - 25% discount on round-trip to Boston for evening events
V581 - Kids ride free on Sundays through June 2009
V543 - Seniors save 50% when traveleing Tuesday-Thursday through June 2009
V279 - 25% discount on medical travel through June 2009
V773 - Buy 1 adult get 1 free through February 2009
College 6TIX - get six trips on the Downeaster for $76 when you show your college ID. Up to 50% off regular fares
Most discounts have the 3-day advance booking requirement. Check the Downeaster website for restrictions and blackout dates.
