Question Sleeper reward.

If points are used for a roomette, does this cover the rail fare as well? Is it all inclusive or do you have to pay rail fare? I have enought points for a roomette. That can hold two people. Do I get my room and rail fare, and pay my wifes rail fare? I hope this is not to confusing.

Yes, your trip would be all inclusive and include both you and your wife if you choose to redeem your AGR points for a sleeper award.

Just seconding what Amtrak posted, trading your GR points for a roomette, will cover the rail fare for both of you and the sleeper charges. It also includes all meals in the dining car during your trip. Of course the reward is one way only, not round trip, unless of course you have enough points for a round trip.

The only money you'd spend would be on tips in the dining car, a tip for your sleeping car attendant, food brought in the cafe car, and if you buy booze in the diner.
