Unexpected availability on the Cardinal
Will wonders never cease! After a trip to Cape Cod/NYC we were facing a trip home. The days of travel lined up nicely w/the Cardinal, but I couldn't get it booked (kept saying "one room left" but wouldn't accept the credit card. Headed to the staffed station in Detroit, where a really helpful guy concluded that since there wasn't a room available all the way through, that I couldn't be accommodated. Thinking I was stuck flying, I decided to keep checking over the wkend, when, Sunday, lo and behold, a room opened up and the booking was accepted! Looking forward to it--bucket list item.

Historically, the more competent phone agents would figure out where the availability "break" was and book you in two separate rooms (i.e. NYP-CIN/CIN-CHI). Usually the SCA would just move the other person between rooms to keep you where you were.
