VIA Rail waives change fees for travel until Nov. 1!

Any ticket, no matter when it was bought, may be refunded online if:One way trip:
The scheduled departure time has not yet passed and is no later than November 1, 2020.
Round trip or multi-segment trip:
As long as first trip segment’s scheduled departure time has not yet passed and is no later than November 1, 2020 all segments will be refunded, even if additional segments fall after November 1, 2020.
Note that partial cancellations are not possible online.

That's nice, but VIA's barely operating any trains until at least Nov. 1.
Kudos to Amtrak for actually maintaining its basic network and proving its worth as an essential service. VIA makes itself look dispensable in comparison.

GoAmtrak, while it is true that VIA has cancelled the Canadian (Toronto--Vancouver) & the Ocean (Montreal--Halifax) thru Nov. 1, I see a full schedule (so far ) when I look at the Windsor--Quebec City corridor for Sep. & Oct., when I hope to attend events in London Ont. and Montreal which have been postponed from July. So it's nice to know that I can book a discounted fare without the normal change fees & non-refundability.
