We are often asked at AGR how monthly and multi-ride tickets are considered in terms of point posting and promotional eligibility. 2 TQPs per dollar spent are awarded for all monthly pass and multi-ride ticket products.


Monthly tickets - points are typically posted in the first week of the month following the month of validity. However, the travel date for purpose of promotional eligibility is the first day of the month of validity.

Example: Purchase a monthly ticket for June 2013; points should appear in the first week of July 2013. The ticket will post at that time with a travel date of 6/1/13.



Multi-ride tickets (10-trip, etc.) - points are typically posted the day after expiration of the ticket. However, the travel date for purpose of promotional eligibility is the first day of the validity period.

Example: Purchase a 10-trip Northeast Regional ticket (with 45-day validity) on 3/8/13. 45 days would be 4/22/13, so points should post on 4/23/13. The ticket will post at that time with a travel date of 3/8/13.



True for any ticket - When a point credit event occurs in the first week of any month, please allow extra days for posting. Month-end accounting work on the mainframe causes our point posting to get batched up for the first few days of each new month.

Is there a reason why it takes until the month is complete for points to post for a monthly pass?

The only reason I ask is that one cannot get a refund after what, 10 days into the month? And the first week the refund is only have the ticket and not if its been used, right?

So what is the point in holding the points that long if pax can't get the tix refunded?
