Ritz Carlton - Madrid

Standard Room booked, upgraded to a suite (With balcony and nice view of the Prado!)
Free Breakfast
Late Checkout offered
Free ride to Airport in The Hotel Mercedes

Other little perks here:

Asked for a smoking room, not ready, so they said one hour and sat me at the bar for an hour with the drinks on the house

An hour after check in, they sent a bucket of champagne as a welcome gift
30 minutes after that they sent a complimentary cake, and bottled water as another welcome gift.

First reservation with FHR, was very pleased here.

Fairmont Lake Louise, Lake Louise, Alberta
- booked $600 1-bedroom suite, upgraded to $1200/night 2-story suite (best one in hotel)
- free breakfast for 2
- free dinner for 2 (taken off bill, party of 8+3 kids)
- didn't use late check-out

* I fell in love with FHR from this point, also got Fairmont Platinum from this trip

Sutton Place, Vancouver
- booked $179 room, upgraded 3 out of 4 to Suite ($50 more usually??)
- free breakfast for all (2 per room x 4 rooms) for some reason as FHR only covered continental (instead of buffet $5 more per person)
- free dinner
- used late check-out last day

Ritz Carlton Buckhead

Standard Room booked, No upgrade received (in fact received one of the least desirable rooms in the hotel) Was informed that the hotel does not upgrade without an up charge since January 1. A call to FHR did not help.
Free Breakfast (told included full buffet, however benefit actually is $42 per room per day, buffet is $29 per person)
Late Checkout offered (not used)
$100 credit

The free breakfast and credit were not posted to bill automatically, had to ask for them to be removed. They removed the full breakfast charge as I had been provided incorrect information.

Pool area will be closed this summer for much needed renovations. Locker rooms and facilities are on the pool level. Spa appears to have been converted from regular rooms on the 9th floor.

The London NYC, New York City

FHR benefits fully explained at check-in.

Standard London Suite booked (all suite hotel).
No upgrade available ("all sold" and it was 10pm) but room had Central Park view.
Free continental buffet breakfast was excellent
Offered and used 4pm check-out
Free formal afternoon tea was great for last afternoon
4 nights for 3 was not taken off first bill.
On querying, 4th night was immediately removed, and was the most expensive!

Fast wi-fi (available to all), super room, efficient staff.
Great experience overall.

booked Casita King - no upgrade - good view though
$100 spa credit - used
Breakfast was vouchers good for $20 each I believe, almost enough to get anything on menu including hot buffet
4 PM checkout offered but not used

Booked initially before 4th night free offer, called and asked for offer - they said no problem and 4th night free was taken off automatically

***HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL***

The Liberty Hotel, Boston

June 2012

I have SPG Plat on top of FHR benefits so internet was free.
Booked deluxe room (lowest cat) same price as BAR. Although a month or two later, BAR was about $100 cheaper than my original price. Decided to stick with FHR booking anyway.
Check-in: Offered champagne, gladly took. Said with my status and FHR, upgraded to corner deluxe room, which is about 500+ sq ft with view of the river.
FHR Amenities: 2 breakfast vouchers, 2 dinner vouchers. I ended up did not use the vouchers, charged everything to my room and have them taken off when I checked out. When I checked in, they didn't have the vouchers ready, and later delivered to my room, but I was out by then.
Bath products are Molton Brown.
Hotel is nice. The club is quite loud. Feels like a W more than a luxury collection. No spa room, no lounge. Great location, right next to the T stop.

Note for future reference, for most SPG hotels the most the FHR rate will be is the BAR - so if you see it reduce ring up FHR and the FHR rate will also reduce...

Nope, I checked for a week, the price on fhr actually went up.
This happened to me at the US Grant hotel as well.

The St Regis in bali now has BAR in the high 3 for Oct/Nov. When I booked a while back, fhr showed 519. Fhr is showing 529 now.

Ah - that is a change then. Worth telling this to FHR as I THINK they have reduced the Fhr rate to BAR in the past... Could be wrong.

Believe me, I did contact them many times regarding this. Some CSR flat out said no. Some humored me and contacted the hotel asking if they would allow the new BAR rate with FHR benefits. Both hotels said no in the past. I perceived the FHR benefits to be a bit higher than $100, so I went with the FHR rate.
