You could. But why would you?

You're totally right. I forgot about my perks, since I haven't been flying since March this year. It's partly for me (so no spend needed), partly for friends who are on a different ITIN.

I made a $100 purchase with my amex plat on the 10th of Nov, no credit yet which is different from most of the rest who've gotten it in 2 days or so.

I did both setting+purchase on the same day, which could have affected it. First time (biz) plat holder, so I set the airline to UA and then waited for confirmation on that setting before making the purchase. Charge posted a couple days later, 2-3, I don't exactly remember how long it took unfortunately as I saw many DPs confirming this was working and none disputing so I was pretty sure it was going to work...

Where can I find the airline credit meter in Amex? Tried looking at card benefits page but didn't see any indicator of how much is left.

It is on the Benefits page, in the same panel where you would choose an airline. The nice thing about the Travel Bank is that you are not actually spending any money, just moving it from one account to another. Not all transactions are reimbursed immediately. I would wait ~2 weeks, and then try another purchase.

Amex Platinum Consumer for P2

Nov 15 50 dollar Travelbank purchase

Nov 17 50 dollar credit

Will now attempt to max out P2 Amex Platinum and My Gold credits prior to the end of the year using this method. Thanks all!
