Stacking The Hotel Collection with Hotel Loyalty Program?
I've read multiple times that Virtuoso, when using it to book a hotel belonging to a chain, can be combined with the chain's loyalty program. From the big FHR thread, it seems some users have had success in stacking FHR with the hotel's loyalty program, too. But what about The Hotel Collection?
I had a stay at a Taj (not sure if that matters) which participates in The Hotel Collection. During booking via Amex online, there was a field (called membership no. or such) in which I entered my Taj Inner Circle number. Upon check-in, I asked if my Inner Circle number is in their system. The response was that I should write down my number for them which I did.
But I didn't earn any points or stay credit...

Hrm, typically that is when these sort of things stack or work. I'd probably submit for past-stay credit, since it sounds like your number didn't get added? Or do you see the stay with '0' credit? Were you able to take advantage of any of your elite benefits (does Taj offer any)?
