Amex Platinum also silently lost the Platinum Dining benefit which brought garanteed amenities (such as a free sude dish or drink, or an upgraded table) at partner restaurants when booked through the concierge (sometimes just flashing the Plat card was sufficient)
Now they silently eliminated this benefit and replaced it with "Global Dining Collection" smoke&mirror which has fewer partner restaurants and doesn't spell out which amenities one is entitled to.

I think there's very little chance that they won't increase the fee. Or, they may keep it at $699 but change the $200 travel credit into something more restrictive like they have in the US.

As cool as the "Metal card" factor is, it's a novelty. I'd rather have a plastic card that has new upgraded benefits rather than esthetics.
Now if they include the "fancy suitcase" then I'd say that's something! LOL

Relaunch details
I just signed into my platinum card account and saw some of the new details:
- 3 MR/$ on dining, 2 MR on travel & 1 MR on everything else
- same annual fee and travel credit
I don't see any other changes yet but I'm going to take a closer look.

Thanks for that info, especially about the last 4 digits - that will be a factor in deciding if I want to switch to a metal card.
