Exactly the same as you, signed up first day but couldn't get virtual card and the physical card still hasn't shown up (I think today is the 6th business day). I did chat with an Amex rep and they said 7-10 business days....

Not yet. However, I did receive a USPS Informed Delivery Daily Digest with a copy of an envelope from Amex. I think that's the Green Card.

After the SUB and Away perk goes away - and if you can't use CLEAR (it's not at my frequent airports or sporting venues yet) - how are you all justifying the $150? I have a Gold and Plat so my big ticket travel (airfare), restaurant and grocery use is obviously covered. As someone in the northeast corridor I do have a decent Amtrak spend/yr and I use Ubers/taxis/SEPTA frequently. Just not sure it'll come anywhere near the value of the $150.

Should i just grab the 45k SUB, get some free luggage, throw my transit spend on the card for the year and worry about it again Nov 2020?

Yes. If you highly value MR and have a lot of non airline “travel” spend it can make sense to keep open, but for those with a Gold card and a BBP it’s a tough sell beyond the SUB.

Yes

How can you justify $250 for the gold then? $150 after Airline Credit 1MR more for eating out but 2MR less for travel

$100 airline credit plus $120 dining credit - both which I use organically. That makes it a $30 Card for me. Something like 80% of personal spend is on restaurants and groceries. I make $$ on my Gold card. And it’s not 1MR more - it’s 1x more. Kind of a big difference on a $400 bill.

I don’t think you can justify it unless you value the SUB.

Also, received my card today.

That is what I mean .... hard to tell how things work for another person. I can never use the dining credit (or for that matter most of the platinum ones). But 3MR on Travel might in a year justify the AF for the Green. Not sure but for the first year the 45k alone more than paid for it.

Will the 3x work on rental cars? How about EZ-Pass? Maybe as DPs roll in we should start a wiki of what “travel” entails.

It should per terms:
