I had a business for 15 years, and I just incorporated it 1 year ago. So I have a new business tax ID. Will I be eligible for a sign on bonus? I got 100k bonus for plat Amex for my business under the old tax ID 5 years ago. Last year, I applied for SPG amex under the new tax ID and never got the bonus.

You are the applicant, not the business. Changing the business name or ID number does not matter. You are not eligible for another bonus until ~7 years after you closed the previous account.

Haven't seen this promotion discussed much here, so I am posting it. 100,000 bonus points for $25,000 spending in first 3 months of Business Platinum. Its actually 50,000pts for the first $10k spent and another 50,000 pts for additional $15k. There is also the 50,000pts for $10,000 spent in 5 months, for those that cant reach the higher spending in the shorter period.

Also, I have a gold business and a gold premier rewards. I have avoided getting Plat personal because the cost for two cards when I add my wife is too much. However, I intend to keep premier gold for everyday purchases for better MR points earnings and replave Bus gold with Plat just for me and also get most Plat benefits.

I pay $175 for Bus Gold and Bus Plat will cost me $450, but I will close that gap with the $200 airline fee credit, which makes Bus Plat only net $75 more. I wish Bus Plat had the $200 Uber credit too, but no such luck. What other benefits do I not get with Bus Plat that I would get with Personal Plat? Thanks!

You might replace Premier Rewards Gold with the free Blue Business Plus which earns 2 points per dollar on ALL spending, capped at $50,000 per year.

Business Platinum does not earn 5 points per dollar on airfare, unless purchased through Amex Travel -and- it does not include the new Saks Fifth Avenue credit. However, Business Platinum offers 35% rebate on Pay-with-Points airline redemptions which nets to $0.015+ -and- you receive 10 Go-Go in-flight broadband sessions per year.

About 8-12 months ago I constantly was getting targeted for this card in my AMEX offers for the 100,000 points with only a $5,000 spend. I put if off but then the offers stopped and I have never had this card. I did click though the offer several times to get them to send me reminders so I showed interest hoping they would continue the offers until l was ready.

Are they still doing these offers? I think they discontinued the mail flyer offers.
