SPG Gold status, spend $30,000 by December statement date or by 12.31?
Does the $30,000 spend have to be completed by last December statement or just by 12/31?

It's in the 3 month from your accepted date. Not from when you activated the card

Wasn't talking about the welcome bonus, I was asking about the upgrade to SPG gold status given to cardholders spending $30k or more annually.

I was told 12.31. But I would not take the chance and finish it before Dec statement. In fact I change the Dec statement date to give it enough time, though I was able to finish it early. One day after your statement closed on which you have met the spend, you get an email from SPG, claiming that You are still Golden!
Because of that I am more inclined it is on the December statement, rather than 12/31 being told.
