To update this a tad....

If the chat button is not showing just click onto the payments tab in your amex account , then the make a payment tab and as if by magic the chat facility will appear lower right on your screen.

Presumably its the offer of money that does the trick.

Still no chat button for me. I have tried everything.

Is the Chat function broken now?

When I went to Contact Us, the Chat option just keeps circling the dead circle forever and ever without connecting to anything.

I have tried payment the usual trick, but to no avail.

EDIT
It is Firefox issue. Chrome is able to establish chat.

I used it on the 6th of October. I will try it now. (It worked correctly. I (again) requested a Contactless Blue Business Plus card.)

Is it just for me or did the chat function disappear in the help page? It used to be quite useful because you don't have to wait on the line forever...

Chat function can be affected by your browser choice or settings. Scroll back to read some suggestions.

Thanks, IE and Chrome don't show the chat for me, I feel like Chrome should have worked... which version of Chrome do you guys use? I use 71.0.3578.98.

Same version of Chrome on my laptop, no issues finding chat - though, at times, I'll need to disable Ghostery so that chat functions correctly.

Have you scrolled through the thread as mia suggested and double checked your settings, especially relating to cookies, privacy, and blocking?

Looks like this issue is still around. I can't for the life of me get the chat working. You can see it for a brief moment and then it disappears. Why does AMEX make it so hard?

Try disabling browser extensions like Ghostery and/or ad blockers (or similar functional extensions). That's what worked for me.

Did that, but no cigar. My work doesn't have any ad blockers and it still didn't load. :( oh well. I went the conventional way and called in. Sigh...LOL

Today's fix for AMEX chat in Firefox
 
  • Turn of any ad blockers like U-Block Origin or Privacy Badger
  • In Firefox options, under Privacy and Security,
    • change tracking to "Standard"
    • Turn off "Do Not Track"
    • Under permissions, uncheck "Block Pop-up Windows"

Anyone else having problems using the Chat feature on the americanexpress.com site? I just get a forever spinning circle. Tried Firefox and Chrome (both Mac), including anonymous mode.

Yep, have been trying and get same result. Then went to the app to chat which did work but found out they can't do Centurion chat so told to use th eweb. Guess I'll call
