Probably a bit of a silly question, but I was unable to find an answer on the Amex webstie.
I currently hold the Preferred Rewards Gold Charge Card and want to keep it until October to get the 7k MR bonus.
I also want to open the "BA American Express Premium Plus Card" however it says "You will not be eligible for any Welcome Bonus award if you currently hold or have held any Avios enrolled American Express Card in the past six months."
Although you can convert MR into Avios, it is based around MR. Does this still mean I won't be eligible for the welcome bonus?
If the answer to the above is no, can my partner open one (the BA or her own Amex Gold / Plat)? She is only a supplementary card holder on my gold and isn't the primary member on any Amex products.
I would then become the supplementary card holder on the BA Amex and hit the 3k opening spend and get her (us) the points?

You can still get the sign up bonus on the BA card as long as you haven't had a BA card in the last 6 months.
Literally 2-3 people a week email me with the question - and that is even after I rewrote all of the references to the cards on Head for Points to make it clearer. There seems to be something about Amex's wording which confuses a lot of people but I don't see it!

I presumed it related to any other Amex cards, not just BA ones. It was the definition of "Avios enrolled Amex card" that threw me.
